Angel City Crash 2024

September 26-30, 2024

The Los Angeles Couchsurfing Community is hosting a Couch Crash!

Explore Greater LA

We will focus events around the Metro system to make movement possible around the greater Los Angeles area. Plan on buying a TAP card or adding to your digital wallet. There will be plenty of walking, so bring good walking shoes. Some events may require use of bus or share an Uber/Lyft with other travelers. Please review all events in advance to know how you will get there, and how you will get back to where you’re staying. We’re here to help guide you through the details!

Pasadena

Our event will begin in Pasadena for those who wish to attend the tour of NASA Jet Propulsion Labs. Then we will explore Huntington Library and Gardens before hopping on the Metro back to Downtown and on to Long Beach!

Long Beach

You can start the day exploring Long Beach on self-guided adventures like the Aquarium of the Pacific, renting a kayak or SUP at Naples Island, or strolling through Belmont Shores for food and drink. We will meet up for a welcome event at the Queen Mary.

Elysian Park / Los Feliz

While you’re in LA, you can catch a live game if you’re a sports fan! The Dodgers will face the Padres in their final home game of the season. Before the game we will meet up at [Los Angeles State Historic Park]

Hollywood

Find your favorite star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, catch a movie at Chinese Theater, visit the wax museum, or get a photo with Marylin, Michael, or another street impersonator. We may arrange a Sunset Gower studios tour. Stay tuned.

West Hollywood

Visit the thriving LGBTQ+ community with bars like The Abbey, or check out iconic venues known for music and entertainment! Stop by Saddle Ranch for a steak and a bull ride.

K-Town

Find karaoke bars, great food, and don’t forget the Korean spa experience (pro-tip, you can also use this as a hostel! Learn more: [here])

Chinatown

Experience traditional Dim Sum breakfast and take a quick stroll through the markets in LA’s official Chinatown. If you’re not feeling dumplings for breakfast, there will be an alternative food joint meetup nearby.

Historic Core / Historic Art District

We will have a bar crawl event on Spring Street. This is a lively area with a full spectrum of LA residents sharing space. Whether your vibe is pub, lounge, club, cafe, or goth metal dive bar, you can find it here.

Art District

Angel City Brewing and some other great venues can be found in this trendy neighborhood of converted old warehouses. We will have a street art tour that takes us through along a route of photo worthy canvases, and equally noteworthy dining and nightlife options.

Downtown

Downtown is a big place. We will guide you through with maps of neighborhoods you should see, and fill you in on others that may be less appealing so you can plan ahead.

Beverly Hills

We may not have an official stop here, as it’s off the Metro routes, but you can make a journey to Rodeo Drive and see the fancy folks of LA, take a selfie next to a Rolls Royce or a Tesla Cyberturck, window shop (or actually shop) for designer goods, and explore fine dining and fancy bars.

Midcity

Evening photo op under the lights at LACMA. Check out he Peterson Automotive Museum.

Santa Monica

Find your bliss exploring beautiful Santa Monica! We will spend time at the beach, on the pier, and you may venture off to Third Street Promenade to enjoy street performers, food and shopping. Watch the acro-yogis do tricks, or swing on the monkey bars at The Green, ride the Ferris Wheel, or battle your buddies in the arcade.

Venice Beach

We will take a guided walk from Santa Monica down to Venice Beach. Bring a skateboard, roller blades, or an instrument to get the full imersive experience here. Or enjoy people watching at muscle beach gym, and pick up soveniers from the Venice boardwalk.

Playa del Rey / El Segundo

We will have an afternoon at Dockweiler Beach. If you want to venture out from there, you can explore the quaint little town vibe of El Segundo’s downtown, or enjoy modern dining and California culture. Visit the Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum on Sunday if Venice Beach isn’t your thing.
